This shoot was so much fun! I don’t often get inquiries to photograph a birthday party, so when this one came in I was really looking forward to it! Children’s museum, a party with a bunch of adorable babies and kids? Yes please! Definitely didn’t hurt that Sophia is an absolute DOLL! Seriously, so cute. Her mom is so creative and crafty, too! I absolutely LOVED the owl theme and everything she did…I couldn’t stop taking pictures of all the cute stuff! (Even though the yellow walls and no windows made it a little tricky…) The party went off without a hitch and Sophia had a great time. Enjoy!
When Jakob’s mom contacted me about a one year session I had to check my calendar. Not because I wanted to see if I had an open day for them, but because I can’t believe it’s been a whole YEAR since he was this tiny! Time is flyin this year!!
We tried first to photograph Jakob at the park with play equipment and nice grassy areas but he was just not having it! I barely got one smile out of him! It was a pretty poppy day too so we decided to try it again a few weeks later when the weather cleared up. This time we went down by the water and he was in a much better mood! He loved playing in the sand and putting on his shades! Such a cutie!
Happy birthday Jakob! I absolutely love photographing you as you grow! See you soon
I keep saying that the senior I’m posting about is my last class of 2011 senior session of the year…haha. I think this one is my last one FOR REALS! Carinna contacted me recently about getting her pictures done but it kept raining and we kept having to reschedule…ugh. So frustrating! The weather finally held out for us a couple weeks ago, and we had a blast wandering around downtown Portland and later a local park. And oh yeah…taking pictures…a TON of pictures! This girl is so dang photogenic! Look at those baby blues
Thanks Carinna! Good luck next year with massage therapy school! xoxo

Just one for now! More coming soon! (See his mommy’s maternity session here)
I’ve known Tricia ever since her sister Tara and I were best friends in the 4th grade. She drove me to high school in our car pool, and we were bridesmaids together in Tara’s wedding. I’m SO excited for her and her husband Ryan expecting their first child! We took some maternity pictures after her nephew Orren’s cake smash session a few weeks ago. Their son Henry was born last Friday and I photographed his newborn session yesterday. Thought I’d better get these up on my blog! Henry’s newborn session will be coming to the blog soon!
Congrats Tricia and Rian!!
I can’t believe how fast time flew by this year! It seems like just a couple months ago I was at the hospital when my good friend Tara had her first little one, then again when we did his 6 month session. Orren’s turning one in just a few weeks! So crazy. We had a fun cake smash session for his birthday party invitations a week or so ago. How expressive is he!! Hahaha so cute!!
Happy birthday Orren!
This couple is very special to my heart. I’ve known Kevin since we were classmates in middle school and Jenn has become one of my great friends. They got engaged last year after 6 or 7 years of being together. Finally!! *wink* I am SO happy for them!
Their August wedding will be out on Sauvie Island so we decided on an urban downtown engagement session. Picked a great day for it, too! We started out with the cherry blossoms and steel bridge then headed into the city. They’re huge Timbers soccer fans so we had to get some fun ones with their jersey’s! So fun!
Love you guys!! xoxo
Van and Steven are my Labor Day weekend wedding this year in Olympia, WA. They came down to Portland for their engagement pictures to get some with the cherry blossoms and get an urban flare. We got lucky and found the one beautiful day last month (I’m kinda exaggerating but not really)! We had a great time walking around the waterfront area with their adorable puppy, and later finding awesome downtown Portland areas to photograph in. I love the result…how photogenic are they?!
Can’t wait for the wedding in September! Thanks you guys!
My last senior of the year!! I thought I was done a few months ago, but Kelsey wanted to wait till Spring to do her session. I’m not complaining! We got super lucky finding a dry day, and got to take advantage of the beautiful cherry blossoms along the Portland Waterfront! We then headed downtown and ended at an area park. Great variety…how cute is she?!
